High School Never Ends, So Don't Get Your Hopes Up

After a week in the official college setting I've successfully decided that high school is impossible to escape. I still find similar tendencies, clicks and cliches I thought I had successfully avoided.
Some tips for dealing with these problems that can be annoying are as follows:
1. Be choosey with everything, friends, lovers and even group projects. You don't want to be bound with a golden ring to some alcoholic bum, sit and eat lunch with the condescending harpies that can almost always be categorized as conformists or even be stuck with the narrow-minded fascists for 2 weeks to work on your U.S. government paper.

2. Only join clubs that contribute to the environment you want to surround yourself with. Don't join the debate team if you came to college looking for a studious solace. Don't join the environmental activists if you don't like trees. Don't get involved partying if you don't want chaos.

3.  Always have a safe spot. Right now, mine is my bike. It's locked up right next to the road off campus and when needed I just cruise onto the horizon. It feels like emerging from a fog or waking up from a bad dream, when I just can't get away from anything. A nook in the library or shady tree on the edge of campus are some other good ideas.
